:ok:
Certainly, many wondered why I haven’t worked so much on the gadget in recent months.
Very glad I had done more for updates and new features, but for health reasons, my strength is lacking. It will take about 2 or 3 months until I have the ability to work on the gadget.
So I ask for your patience … The project is not dead. :ok:
Your feature to save settings to a file is nice, but, unless I am missing something, I think a better use of this feature would be to have your gadget read that saved file everytime it starts so it has the same look every time the laptop is booted. I am using this on a number of laptops in a „locked down“ configuration and would like it to show the same configuration as I set it without user intervention.
Thanks for your consideration.
In case you have not heard, Microsoft has announced that there are significant security issues with Sidebar and Gadgets. Because of this, Sidebar is being disabled, probably permanently, as Windows 8 will not have Sidebar and Gadgets. I’m a long time user of NotebookInfo2, and it (and all other gadgets) no longer works on my computers–I really miss NotebookInfo2!! Have you considered converting NotebookInfo2 into a standalone application that does not require Sidebar?
Thanks.
