I really like the tool, it’s very useful.
But since I installed SP1 onto my Windows 7 Pro (32 Bit), it takes more than 15sec to open the settings dialogue, and the settings are not stored any more, i.e. after a reboot the gadget comes up again with its default settings. What can I do? Where / how are the settings stored?
i’m having th same problem as maxiul: if i change options more than once i lose all th text and only see th bars. i reinstall to fix it. it has this problem on my toshiba M645 and my lenovo x61. both running W7. th x61 is 32 bit th m645 is 64. not tht big of a problem, just giving u info tht may hlp fix th bug
and i want to thank you for 1 of th best widgets ive come across. well thought out succinct & powerful very elegant keep up th good work margu
Hello Margu,
Wonderful tool you have there, it’s amazing, and exactly what I was looking for as a gadget, subtle yet informative, and quite stylish too.
Now I’m having sort of a problem with it on my laptop. It always freezes after a few minutes, and I’m not sure why. I’ve installed it on my desktop too, and (without using energy management settings, battery and network) it seems to work fine.
Laptop: Win7 Home x64 CPU: i3
Desktop: Win7 Ultimate x64 CPU: i7
I also dropped back to 2.2.2, but had the same issue.
On a sidenote, can I change the language myself? It’s Dutch for me now, but I prefer English nonetheless. 😛
Sorry for the long post and thank you for your efforts!
@Ed: Nice to hear that you like my gadget 🙂
For your „alarm problem“: to stop the alarm click on the alarm-clock symbol. Maybe you have to click twice because the sidebar has to become focus first.
Good news: I think this gadget is great and I thank you for it.
Bad news: if I use the alarm clock, I cannot get it to stop beeping at me. :wall:
HP DV7-3057NR and Win7 32bit
@Mr. Dan: I have to check this. Seems there are some different things in windows system tools if there is a quad core cpu is working.
@Maxiul: If the background is gone, what are you seeing else? Is it a blank gadget then?
@Fred: If you use the greg./EU or the islamic calendar this is normal, because on the EU calendar (ISO-8601) only monday can be first day of week. In USA for example they use the standard gregorian calendar format where either monday or sunday can be first day of week.
Hope I could help you 🙂
I don’t know if other are having problems, but I can’t change the „first day of week“ from Monday to Sunday! I am using an HP Pavilion dv9825nr running Windows Vista SP1+.
if a change option twice or more(different),then background is gone,my OS Win7 HE,laptop Samsung r580
My favorite all in one tool. Though i think there is an issue with the new version. It freezes shortly after opening. I have a Dell E6410 with an i7 proc, and i see one of the cores drop to a ‚-1‘ value then shortly after that the gadget freezes. Also noticed that after closing the gadget and re-launching it my settings are lost. (this is a brand new install of win7 x64 – was the first and only gadget installed)
Keep up the good work, ill drop back to 2.2.2 for now.
@Ken: You either can try to install it directly from Windows Live Gallery
I got it from another website and it works fine
nope not there
Hi Ken,
after download and unzip of the file you should have a file named „margu-NotebookInfo2.gadget“. This you can install by double click on it.
How do you install this i see no gadget file in the zip??? version 2.2.4
