New: Version 2.2.2 of margu-NotebookInfo2
A few changes and fixes beside some additions for this version.
Hopefully the problem with HP notebooks is fixed now.
Additions are a 2nd clock which can be used with different timezone and alarm. And now margu-NotebookInfo2 isn’t not only able to show usage of DualCore CPU anymore. Now you can show as many cores as you want (but not more than are in your computer :biggrin: 😉 ).
As always you can find all needed here.
I installed the latest notebookinfo2 on my Atom based netbook. Everythings seem to be fine except the cpu frequency. For the Atom N280 processor on this netbook, its top speed is 1.66 Ghz but notebookinfo2 shows it is running at 1.33 Ghz.
I installed the latest notebookinfo2 on my Acer netbook (Atom processor based) and found the reported CPU frequency is not correct. The Atom N280 processor supposed to run at 1.66 Ghz maximum but notebookinfo2 reports it @ 1.33Ghz.
hello there
great gadget.
i would like to ask you for 3 things to add.
1)spanish support
2)information refresh interval (i consider that cpu refresh information is too high)
3)i like graphs for cpu usage, is it possible? also with ram, everything could be arrange in a single graph as %

Who Am I?!!!
I love this gadget. It would be cool if control features are add; such as, hibernate, shutdown and restart, etc.
I am using the latest version 2.2.2 and really love the interface, display, and features provided. However I noticed a few issues that I thought I would share to make the next version even better.
On my Toshiba Tecra M9 I find after a few hibernation and waking up occurrences it will stop updating the display. Even the Calendar will show several days in the past and no updates on the CPU/memory/lan and so on. Sometimes going into the settings will also lock up the interface – I think it locks up trying to identify the networking adapters. I have to kills the process and add the gadget back in to resolve — or reboot. But this is not very often as I typically have it set up the way I want it and don’t have a need to go into this except when manually checking for updates.
Hello margu,
I was using an old version of your NotebookInfo2, which I modified in some ways for myself (in such as playing a sound when battery is critical, which this old version didn’t possess, changed some display pictures, added color changes to fonts based on status, changed some font sizes, texts etc)…
So I was very pleased to find out that there are such new and improved versions. I immediately downloaded and installed the newest version (2.2.2), which also features some things I added for myself in the old version as well as many new tools.
But there is one matter that upsets me a little: After setting up the gadget within the settings and adding or removing the components desired, changing some font colors etc, the changes take effect without any problem. But once I restart my computer, the gadget starts like totally reset. The only information in the settings that remain are the choices for Ethernet and Wifi sources. All other settings are set back to kind of „first run status“ and I have to set up the whole tool on every new computer startup 🙁 .
Is that a known issue you are working on, or is it just a problem I experience? Or am I doing anything wrong? I checked the gadget „Settings.ini“ file and the changes take place in there after set up, but on restart even the information in this .ini file is set back, hence I suspect it’s being overwritten by the gadget program upon restart.
Your kind response will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot 🙂 .
Best regards,
HB
@Tajul: Thanks for your suggestion. 🙂
But I don’t realy understand what especialy you talk about.I used the source of John Walker’s Calendar Converter and as I understood he considered the leap years in islamic calendar.
Can you please explain what is wrong with this, so I’ll try to consider this in my calendar on next release.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
This is a very good application. However for the islamic calendar, you should put an option to adjust +-1 day or +-2 days as the calendar change according to leap year and ramadhan months. Thank you again for the gadget.
Hi!
I was very pleased to find the new version has a second clock. I put this on three of our laptops. However all 3 now seem to have blanks where we are supposed to put region and timezone etc? After clicking on the spanner I see for a few seconds writing saying selecting wan information then absolutely everything goes blank, and on all 3 pc’s?? I have uninstalled and re downloaded installed the software but it wont change. Anyway I look forward to you getting back to me and a solution to this as I love this application.
Regards
Steve 🙂
Hallo!
edit: 😆 habs jetzt erst richtig gemerkt was Du mir sagen wolltest. Das heißt also, daß es mit den Parametern nicht funktioniert, gell. 🙂
Werde ich also beim nächsten Update berücksichtigen.
Hi!
var CalApppath = „C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Office\\Office12\\OUTLOOK.EXE“;
var CalAppName = „Outlook Kalender“;
var CalAppArgs = „/select outlook:calendar“;
CalApppath = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalApppath“);
CalAppName = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalAppName“);
CalAppArgs = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalAppArgs“);
System.Shell.execute(CalApppath, CalAppArgs);
und hier die der settings.js:
var DisplayClock2, physicalCPU, logicalCPU, currentCores, CalAppName, CalAppArgs;
CalApppath.value = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalApppath“);
CalAppName = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalAppName“);
CalAppArgs = System.Gadget.Settings.read(„CalAppArgs“);
if (CalApppath.value == „“)
{
System.Gadget.Settings.write(„CalApppath“, „C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Office\\Office12\\OUTLOOK.EXE“);
System.Gadget.Settings.write(„CalAppName“, „Outlook Kalender“);
System.Gadget.Settings.write(„CalAppArgs“, „/select outlook:calendar“);
MfG
Danke!
